Depot Labor Support — Cherokee Nation Red Wing | Cherokee Federal
Welcome to Cherokee Nation Red Wing

You Keep the
Mission Running.

Starting July 16, Cherokee Nation Red Wing (CNRW), a Cherokee Federal company, will become your employer under the Depot Labor Support Contract.

While your employer is changing, your day-to-day work remains the same. You will continue supporting the same Army mission, working at the same installation and alongside the same team.

Your pay remains protected. Your union agreement remains in place where applicable. Most importantly, the work you do every day continues without interruption.

Our goal is to make this transition as smooth and straightforward as possible, and we are committed to providing the information and support you need throughout the process.

Your Pay Stays the Same Pay rates will continue based on your union agreement, wage determination or employment terms.
Your Union Stays the Same If you are represented by a union, your agreement and representation rights remain in place.
Your Job Stays the Same You will continue supporting the same installation, coworkers and U.S. Army mission.
We are Coming to You
Our transition team will be visiting each installation to answer questions and provide information about the move to Cherokee Nation Red Wing.

Plain and Simple
We come to the table as partners — both to our employees and their unions.
Our team has supported thousands of federal contracts since 1969. We know what it means to respect a CBA and take that seriously.
Your Benefits as a Union Member

If you are in the union at RRAD or SIAD, your benefits are locked in by your union contract, and CNRW will always follow it. Federal law requires every new contractor to honor the existing union agreement. Your wages, benefits and holidays all carry over.

Your Benefits

Understanding CNRW Benefits

Are you a non-union, exempt or salaried employee? You will have access to CNRW’s robust benefits package.

Non-Union Workers (SCA Covered)

Pay Rates Are Location-Specific
Your rate is set by the federal Wage Determination for your job type and installation. We will confirm your exact rate during your transition conversation — before July 16.
Hourly Rate
Set by the federal Wage Determination for your job and site. CNRW pays at or above that rate.
Health Benefit
Federal law requires a Health & Welfare fringe per hour worked. You receive it as a benefits package or as cash, depending on what fits.

Up to 56 hours (seven days) of paid sick leave per year, required by federal executive order.
Vacation
Two weeks paid vacation after one year of service. That amount is pro-rated if you less than a year.
Federal Holidays
Eleven paid federal holidays per year. All holiday pay requirements met.
No Gap in Pay
Your rate is confirmed before July 16. Payroll runs without interruption from day one.

Exempt / Salaried Employees

If you are in a professional, supervisory or management role, your benefits come through CNRW’s company-wide package. You will get a written offer letter before July 16 that spells everything out (salary, health coverage, retirement and PTO) so you know exactly where you stand.

This Applies To
WVA — Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet NY. Other exempt positions at other sites confirmed after award. Not sure if this is you? Select "Not sure" on your application.
Salary
Competitive salary that matches your current compensation. Confirmed in your written offer before July 16.

FAQ
Questions? We have answers.
These are the questions we are hearing most. If yours is not, ask us directly when you apply or at your on-site Town Hall.
Talk to Someone Directly
Apply and your site's coordinator will follow up. Or find us in late June at RRAD and ANAD, or early July at SIAD and WVA.
  • No. This is a contract transition — the contract moves from your current employer to CNRW. Your position stays. Your work stays. You are exactly who we need to keep this mission running, and we want you to stay.
  • No. If you are in the union, your contract rate is protected. CNRW is required by law to honor it. If you are not in the union, federal law sets your minimum rate and we meet or exceed it. Salaried employees receive a written offer that confirms their compensation before July 16.
  • Nothing happens CNRW your union. Your membership, representative and grievance process all stay the same. Cherokee will meet with union leadership at RRAD and SIAD before the transition to make sure everything is coordinated. Your dues withholding continues on your check.
  • Yes. Your seniority is recognized under your union contract, and it does not reset when the contractor changes. For non-union workers, your years of service count toward your vacation eligibility. Your transition coordinator will explain how this works specifically for your situation.
  • Not really. You go to the same site, work the same job, alongside the same Army civilian employees you have always worked with. The Army tells you what to do on the floor — that does not change. CNRW is your employer — the one who cuts your check and handles HR.
  • For union members, pension and retirement contributions are governed by your union contract and CNRW follows those guidelines. For non-union and salaried employees, retirement benefits will be covered in your transition package and offer letter. Your coordinator will walk through this with you specifically.
  • No. Payroll is fully set up before July 16. Your check keeps coming on the same schedule — weekly or biweekly, same as today.
